The back button takes me back to the top of the previous page instead of the place in the previous page where I was previously. How is this corrected?

On a list like Craiglists that has 100s of listings on a page, you click the link to go to the description page of the item, after viewing the description, I then click the back button & instead of going back to the place that I was on the previous page, I am returned to the top of the page. This is time consuming, because I then have to locate the listing I was at before so I can continue my review of the remaining listings.

Maybe it's an add-on or extension compatability glitch. I had same problem and I appear to have solved it by uninstalling APTURE HIGHLIGHTS 1.6. following a standard diagnostic test No more white flashes and now my scroll position is remembered. This also cleared up a bad freeze/hang I had after waking from sleep/hibernation.

Thanks so much chreid. Your recommendation to uninstall APTURE HIGHLIGHTS solved the problem with the back button.

That's great! First time I've ever posted and I helped someone! Glad it wasn't only me. I also emailed APERTURE: support@apture.com to inform them.

Bless you Chreid - this has been driving me nuts since moving back to Firefox. While once there was an extension to restore scroll position that bug had been reported fixed and thus no update for the extension. I'm glad it was something so simple as a faulty addon.

I do not have this exact extension. I seems to affect only certain web sites, mainly some forums, like Macrumors and Modmyi.

Still cannot fix...
