I have accidentally removed my bookmarks AND my search bar. I can't even type a web address because the bar is gone. Please, how can I get back to my bookmarks and search bar?

I don't know how I managed to remove everything from the top of Firefox. There is no search bar in which to type a url, my bookmarks are gone, everything is gone. How can I get this back to the way it was?

Right click along the top of the browser somewhere. You should see a menu that lists a few things including...

  • navigation toolbar
  • bookmarks toolbar
  • customize...

The Navigation Toolbar is the web address bar. If you select it a check mark should appear and it will be back. Same for the bookmarks toolbar.

Thanks but that did not work. Upon further investigation, I learned that holding down ALT for a little bit brings the tool bar back. Then I followed these directions:

It worked. For now.
