Apparently the Shockwave Flash Player 10.2.xxxx plugin is causing the problem. Anybody got a solution for this?

It's not the flash player, firefox 3.6.16 works fine with it.

Yeah FF 3.x was working fine with it. But FF 4.x doesnt. Do you know how to solve this problem?

Ok this is my resolution for the hanging problem with Firefox 4.0 with the Adobe Flash player in Windows 7.

Just like most of you guys I had a constant “hangs and freezes” whenever I tried to view WebPages with flash content in Firefox 4.0, even if I could normally opens everything in IE, it did not in Firefox and the problem became evident when I deactivated the flash plugin.

The problem actually resides with Firefox and not Adobe to begin with, so what I did was a “manual allocation” of the important files needed by Firefox to open the flash content, so first Check if the ~\Programs\Mozilla\Plugins\ folder exists in your computer, if not (like in my case) create a folder with that same name “Plugins” and in it paste the files ”flashplayer.xpt” and “NPSWF32.dll”, in case you need these files there is this link over here ¬_¬ with them, it is needed to rename the extension to .Zip if u can’t open it directly, extract those 2 files to the “Plugins” folder, run Firefox and test it out.

And like magic the problem is solve, what I discovered was Firefox does not create a plugins folder by default in some cases, but the path it uses to try and open flash content is the same, so it naturally “freezes” and does not move for a long time, and in the end it does not open.

Hope this helps most of you guys out there.

unfortunately that did not solve the problem, Petrus.

Same problem here. Solved by downloading & installing Adobe Flash "square" for both FF4 (plugin) and MSIE9 (ActiveX). System: Intel Core i7-860/4GB, Win7 Ulti 64-bit SP1, MSIE 9 64-bit, FF4.

Good luck!

I solved it in this process: - uninstalled FireFox - deleted the Mozilla FireFox folder from the Program Files - reinstall FireFox 4

everything seem to be working again.
