when loading sites with version 4 I get bars through the current page. if I page up or down it goes away, but at times shows up at any given time. what is the problem?

the bars are like scrunched up data that stretches across the screen. these appears the most during the first load of website, but do appear sometimes while paging through the site. when paging it sometimes appears just on the edges.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

In Firefox 4 Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
