I have an LG Ally and would like to download Firefox, but subsequent attempts have failed. It does absolutely no good to simply post that, oh, yeah, it don't work on the Ally. People who have the Ally would like to use Firefox and all the available features but are denied and the only answer is, oh, yeah, sorry. Users want to know that Mozilla is working on the problem and resolving it.

The LG Ally uses a processor that supports the ARM v6 architecture, the mobile version of Firefox requires a processor that supports the ARM v7 architecture.

For a while Mozilla did have some experimental builds for the ARM v6 processors but there were bugs causing them to crash so they are no longer available. Currently Mozilla are not working on a version for phones with the ARM v6 processor.
