Google Maps doesn't work in FF5

more options

google maps doesnt work - it displays but keeps in a "loading state". This is applicable to a google.com map search which freezes or a maps.google.com which cannot be interacted with. You might want to confirm that the latest version of flash doesn't cause problems

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I'm having what sounds like the same problem. None of the steps above have solved this for me. Please try my website at http://mydiscs.com. Neither firebug nor the Error Console show any errors for me. The google map itself simply fails to display at all. This website worked fine in Firefox 4, as well as every other modern browser I have tried. Please help!

I found my problem...it was a simple META tag typo, I had MEDIA=screen in my stylesheet LINK tag, instead of the correct MEDIA="screen".

we've followed the advice here and in the troubleshooting guide and are still having the same problem. We can load in html format but not the full version. Skype extension currently incompatible/disabled. Any further suggestions?

OK, I have a major problem with running Google maps. All other parts of Google seem to work fine, just the maps page. I have checked that all add ons, extensions and Java are up to date. Also followed all the suggestions listed here. Cache and cookies cleared. Reboot system and restart FF. No change. The map page just hangs, has the banner "loading......etc" No icon images in tool buttons. In the bottom status bar, after a minute it will say "timed out"

Running XP, fully updated.

This problem started when updated to FF5.

OK not sure what happened here, but Google Maps is now working.

Google maps seems to be having a problem with FF.

It seems to be intermittent.

It is the same hanging of the page loading. as described by others.

When I follow the outlined work around, some times this fixes the problem, other times not.

Not sure what is going on with this, but it seems to happen a lot.
