When I open firefox 8.0 on my windows 7 SP1 hp laptop, the window opens, and quickly disappears as if it is off the screen. This began happening after i hooked up to a dual-moniter, and have since removed the dual-monitor. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled firefox, to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated since firefox is my favorite web browser!

  • Open that window via the Taskbar to set focus to it.
  • Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.

If that works then close Firefox (File > Exit/Quit) to save that setting.

I keep getting this problem. It isn't because of a second monitor, either. I just minimize, and next time I restore, it's off the screen. It has gotten to where I am afraid to minimize Firefox. I'm switching to Chrome, because I often have 5 or 6 tabs open, and it's just too much work to copy the addresses while maximized, fix Firefox, and open them all again. It seems to happen every few days. Sometimes I can close it and open it again, and it recovers to a tiny bar in the upper left corner.

The whole Resize thing gives me the resize mouse icon, but there's nothing I can do to actually latch on to Firefox and drag it back on my monitor.
