AOL email upgrade now ctrl + click on a link takes me out of my email into newly opened link when want to remain in my email,not a problem when use CHROME ,any solution ?(tried various differant settings within email)

after recent version of AOL installed i can no longer remain in an email when i press ctrl+left click on a link in that email (i am taken to link in a new tab) .I have tried differant settings in Aol but no change.When i use Aol in CHROME ctrl+left click opens link in new tab whilst i still remain in my email.I am using FIREFOX 8

Use Ctrl+Shift+click to open the link in a new tab but remain where you are, if Ctrl+click opens new tab in the foreground. The two shortcuts can be reversed and are controlled by Tools > Options > Tabs > "When I open a link in a new tab switch to it immediately".
