When I used to sign on, a gold lock would show on the lower right corner for a secured setting. Since I updated Firefox yesterday, that lock is not showing when I sign in.

The lock icon was removed in recent versions of Firefox because it's a false sense of security. Instead, the address bar's left side turns green if the site is using an encrypted connection. See a relevant thread about this here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/902124
