Edit->Preferences->mailto is set to "Use thunderbird (default) If I set Edit->Preferences->mailto to "Use Yahoo! Mail, that works.

In KDE I set the "Use a different email client: to /usr/bin/thunderbird. If I enter /usr/bin/thunderbird in a console, thunderbird starts.

No, that didn't help. I had already set Firefox, Thunderbird and KDE to use Thunderbird as the instructions in the link. Thanks though, for your reply. Wayne

Is there a way to debug this stuff and find out just where it's not working? WEVL

No idea. Setting Thunderbird as the default mail client and setting it up in Firefox as the mailto application worked for me, but I use Mac OS, not Linux.
