I have Firefox 18.0.2 for android running on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. The drop down list in Google translate (for translating complete web pages e.g. http://www.samtorrance.com/google-translate.htm ) only shows the first item (select language). Google translate works on Samsung's own browser, HTML drop down lists work OK in Firefox and Google translate on the same webpage works on desktop machine.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing.
Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies, do the following:

  1. Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section Privacy & Security and select Clear private data.
  4. You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    • Cookies & active logins
    • Cache
  5. After those have been selected, tap the Clear data button to actually clear the cache and cookies.

Did this help you with your problems? Please let us know!

This did not clear the problem, however I notice that even after clearing cookies, logins and cache, some but not all recent web pages and several open tabs are still present. This is also the case after clearing and immediately re booting.

I know the problem is not there on my desktop or laptop, it is certainly still there on my Galaxy Tab 2. I don't know if its just my machine or more general. If anyone would like to try translate on http://www.learnabout-electronics.org.../osc10.php this page for example using a mobile device I would be interested to know if it works for you!

This appears to be an issue with Google translate. Their JS widget does not work on Firefox desktop either. I filed an Evangelism bug so that we can track Google fixing this. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=852221

Checked again this morning and Google translate does give full drop down list on my Firefox 19.0.2 desktop but not on Firefox 18.0.2 for Android.

Here are two screenshots, Screenshot 1 shows translate menu on Firefox 18.0.2 (Galaxy tab 2 7.0)

Screenshot 2 shows translate menu on resident browser (Galaxy tab 2 7.0)

Note: Although the drop down list works OK in this browser, Google only partially translates the page (e.g. headings but not text in

tags). Hope this helps
