If I have multiple tabs open, and I hit the Home button on one of them, Firefox opens up a new tab right next to it with the Firefox start page. I have searched in the options and am unable to find why this is occurring or how to stop it.

If this is not a pinned (App) tab then the home page should open in that tab.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
