I have had many problems over the years with mozilla updates. I would like to be informed about updates, check out what security changes have been made, and decide for my myself if they are relevant to me. Can't I get a "don't update" choice and be left alone til the next update?

Sorry, I haven't seen a mailing list sign up page for email notification of an impending update. Here is the Rapid Release schedule for 2014 - bookmark it!

Other than 8 weeks between Firefox 26 and 27, new versions are released every 6 weeks since Firefox 7.0.

You can check the update settings:

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Update

There are 3 choices:

auto-update, which, as I said, causes many problems
let me chose, which causes endless nags if I don't update
never check, which means I don't get notified of updates

None of these are satisfactory
