Have had splotches of color on screen during video playback. This happens in Youtube and other video streams (sporadic).

There are none of these patterns on my screen using other windows applications. It shows up on the internet browser screens including gmail, and the mentioned video playback sites. It seems to become worse when going to full screen playback on videos.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You can also try to "disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player.
