Hi,

This regards 'Private Browsing Mode'. Its really frustrating to have the Add-ons functional even in this mode. Isn't Private meant to have "Privacy" ? Then why do the installed add-ons still appear functional even in this mode, shouldn't they be disabled?

Regards, Kaly

Are these add-ons violating your privacy? When you exit private browsing are these add-ons keeping history?

Also, please update to Firefox 28 to remain secure. Thanks Update Firefox to the latest release

Private Browsing mode only means that no data from that PB mode session will be stored on the hard drive.
Otherwise everything is still the same regarding add-ons like extension and plugins.
Cookies are session cookies that expire when you close the Private Browsing mode session.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Private-browsing mode.

But, like i said, is there a way to completely disable the add-ons while in PB mode ?

dkalyan,

As far as I know, there isn't a way to disable the add-ons while in PB mode. Some extensions and plugins detect Private Browsing mode and may act differently, but that is up to the developer of the extension to ensure that happens. The only thing that Firefox (add-ons not included!) does in PB mode is not saving session data to disk.
