How do I get rid of a tab requesting donations for an add-on?
I recently downloaded an add-on for Firefox that I have found very helpful. A few days later, a tab launched requesting a small donation for the developer. Since I was using and enjoying the add-on, I made a small ($10) donation. All well and good, but the tab keeps showing up once a week or so, and I'm not going to make any more donations. How do I get rid of this?

What add-on? Have you contacted its help site?
Such a detail is likely stored in one of the prefs of that extension (see about:config)
So you can check for issues with your preferences.
It's the S3 Downloads Statusbar. I went to the developer's blog site and it's all in Russian, which I do not read. I checked the "options" for the extension and there's nothing in it about the donations tab.
I searched about:config and found a listing of "stuff" under the S3 Downloads Statusbar. I did see an entry with "FirstRun" in it's description (extensions.s3downbar.function.firstRun;false) but I'm reluctant to start monkeying around with stuff I don't understand. There didn't seem to be anything in the "options" for the extension.
There is forum thread over at mozillaZine fora that the developer of that extension uses for support. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2793995&start=210
You may want to go back a few pages in that thread to see if any other users have an answer or have asked about that "donations tab".
SisqB; I searched about:config and found a listing of "stuff" under the S3 Downloads
Can you take a snapshot of what you see?

Thank you!
Mine was fireftp and I couldn't find anywhere to ask a question on their help site
uptowndebbie Open about:config, enter fireftp in the search box, then take a snap shot and post it here.
Nothing showed up when I searched for "fireftp"
Hi SisqB, sorry for the confusion, but FireFTP is a completely different extension. It has a preference that looks like this on mine:
fireftp.donated = true
(It's actually not true, as far as I can remember, but maybe it recorded that when I clicked a button somewhere.)
Since you are asking about a different extension, please ignore the recent discussion of FireFTP.
