Unblock Firefox Plugins

Several of my plugins / addons were blocked by firefox. When I click the "Update Now" link, I get redirected to a page which gives a bunch of reasons why the plugin was blocked, but no options are offered how to update the plugin or how to unblock it.

I like firefox, BUT I do not like having plugins which were working just fine, automatically blocked and turned off by firefox. I'm happy with the plugins I have and am not concerned about them being "potentially insecure and unstable". I'd like a plugin or some way to stop firefox from automatically blocking and turning off my plugins.

You need to update your software, it's VERY out of date.

Running out of date software leaves you VERY at risk for known security holes. While they are fixed in modern versions, they are known and vulnerable in older versions, leaving you at risk for attack (and these are attacks that you often can't identify for yourself and anti-virus and firewalls won't protect you from). In the modern internet world, it's best to have everything on your side, and keep as many things as up to date as possible.

I'm currently using firefox version 28. The reason is because I do not like the look of the newer versions. There's lots of complaints from other people about the newer versions as well.

I'm happy with version 28 and the current plugins I have. I would like for firefox to leave my computer alone, stop automatically disabling plugins and trying to force me to upgrade to a later version of firefox. I'm sure a lot of other people feels the same about this.

In the case of Flash there is critical exploits if you are using a older version as that is why Mozilla added Flash versions to blocklist yesterday and five weeks ago. The Flash player was last added back in Jan/Feb 2013 before. This shows it is serious.

If the only reason you don't want to use a newer Firefox version is the look, then see this article: How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox. It's pretty easy to restore the old style. Plus Firefox 35, which recently came out, is widely regarded as being the fastest Firefox every released, and VERY stable. You shouldn't be using such old software versions, it's simply not safe or good for the web.
