Why is Youtube suddenly seeming to freeze during all playback?

Since last Monday night FF seems to suddenly freeze or go to a "webpage not responding" state each and every time I go to view a video. I've updated my graphics drivers, my version of Flash Player, and recently my FF but none of these have fixed the problem. My FF has yet to crash but the constant freezes on Youtube makes me wonder. Once a video does start playing playback is fine, but if I attempt to pause or scroll down to the comments the webpage fades out to not responding and sits there for several minutes until it fixes itself. I've tried every one of the ways to fix this issue yet nothing has helped. It seems that Youtube is the only site that is having this issue as I can go to a Twitch stream and watch it perfectly. What do I have to do too fix this seemingly random bug?

hi codygotkilld, you can go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > about firefox - you should get an update to 41.0.1 there, which we hope will fix this issue!

Updated and did all of the recommended actions to fix playback issues with Youtube and it still happens. I think its not the video's themselves but rather something on each of the pages causing the " webpage not responding" freeze ups. Maybe the scripts for the recommended/similar videos on the side of the screen or the comments loading up to be displayed? I can watch a Youtube video from Twitter just fine but once I go to the main site things fall apart.

I don't know but each time I find a fix for the problem and it fails my confidence with FireFox sinks due to this very minor issue in the scheme of things. Sure if it happened on each and every site with video playback I'd see this as a big problem that takes time to fix. Sadly, it just seems that Firefox can't handle something on Youtube and it causes it to freeze up multiple times when watching a video. I'd post the crash reports but amazingly enough I've yet to crash the browser even when it goes white screen and the program goes to check for a solution to fix the problem.
