From gmail message clicking on a link to a email address within the email opens 320 new tabs in firefox browser
After opening Firefox I chose a new tab and the opened my gmail account. After reading the mail I had to reply to and address within the email and clicking on it somehow caused the "mailto:the address" to be opened up on 320 tabs. I had to wait until all of them were loaded and then delete them one by one as I had other pages opened which I did not want to close. This has happened a few times now from different websites. eg. gmail, aliexpress etc.

What is the content type mailto: set for?
