Why Does Firefox Hangs Mouse Windows 10 Pro which causes my unusable, need to force shutdown and startup?
With the current Windows 10 Pro updates and when I use Firefox 59.0.2 (64-bit) about several hours goes by and all of a sudden the mouse pointer is hung -- I am not able to do anything on the system. I have to force the shutdown and then startup again!!!!
I never seen this before on any of my systems. Plus Windows 10 sucks big time as it is, but it is worst because it does not work well with Firefox - -also FIREFOX has a memory leak -- after awhile I have to reboot to get my memory back. I have 16GB of RAM Memory. This should not happen.
But my main concern - 1. Mouse Pointer Freezes 2. Force Shutdown (button) 3. Then Startup aagain.
Very bad.....
Do you know what the problem is?
There are two issues. 1. Firefox freezes Mouse Pointer - have to force shutdown and startup 2. Firefox has memory leaks can go up to 3,049.6 MB and more - and does not recover when I exit Firefox. I have to restart the computer to recover
Who test the Firefox before it goes out?
Thanks for your help. Donna

If you could try this;
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
I think it is your computer that freeze because of heat (I have same issue) ! Firefox use processor a lot (with média) so it warm faster than before ! Try to get a temperature watcher of your processor to confirm... If so then open the window or change your cooler ... :/

I once had a heat issue. It turns out the air vents were plugged. Buy a can of compressed air at the store and blow out all the vents.
It is NOT a heat issue - brand new computer the fan is working good when it gets hot. It happens only when I have the computer one 2 hours later.
Hi, Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
If still issues of high ram use in Windows Task Manager please try this : Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 or go higher to find the sweet spot. Restart Firefox after making these changes please. Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.
This is possibly effecting your mouse and yes it could be heat from the ram or could be another issue such as below :
- Repair System Registry and Files
Find the Dos Prompt or Powershell then Right Click and Run as Administrator then : Copy/Paste to Dos Window : DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then hit Enter. Reboot when completed. Note : DISM goes up to Microsoft for new files. fyi : https://www.howtogeek.com/302595/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-updating-hardware-drivers/ Search for Device Manager and check if it is running proper mouse, video and sound drivers.
Current Win 10 is build 1709 and can find that out in Settings --> System --> About also please go to Settings--> Updates & Security will see View Installed Update History Link . While there please check you have the below installed : Note fyi : check to see if have Microsoft update KB4093105 700megs If not you can get it here : https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=kb4093105 Note fyi : Windows Spring Update out April 30th so back up stuff you want to save to another drive. https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-announces-windows-10-april-2018-update
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
