more options

The web site for Tangerine bank does not show the "feedback" tab on there web site "https://www.tangerine.ca/en/index.html" but another web browser also on my workstation does show the feedback tab. See the working web browser screen below

Why is this occurring in Firefox 61.01?

Firefox's Tracking Protection feature blocks Google Tag Manager, and without the script from Google Tag Manager, the Feedback button does not display.

Are you viewing the page in a private Window? Tracking Protection is enabled automatically in private windows. To make an exception, click the "shield" icon at the left end of the address bar. More info: What happened to Tracking Protection?.

There are other possible reasons for Google Tag Manager to be blocked if that isn't the reason.

I click to the left where there is an "i" The shield says no tracking elements detected. I also tried turning off "use tracking protection to block known trackers" set to "never" and turned off private browsing mode. i still do not see the "feedback" tab.

What Security Program are you running and Extensions please ?

Try Firefox Safe Mode to TEST & see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

SafeMode-Fx35

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

The only extension I have is Ublock origns. I removed the extension and I still could not get the "feedback" tab.

When I went into safe mode the "feedback" tab appeared. Since Safe mode only disables non Firefox apps this suggest a hidden app in Firefox doesn't it?

I tested using Tor which also uses Firefox and it shows the "feedback" tab.

I would like to find what is causing this modification on a Bank web site option.

As far as I know, extensions cannot hide themselves from the Add-ons page in Firefox 57 or later, other than the extensions Mozilla installs for various browser features.

Firefox's Safe Mode also disables the customization files userChrome.css and userContent.css -- do you recall creating either of those?

more options

I definitely did not create and userChrome.css but I will search for a file named with that entry.

I have also tried removing the only extension I have installed "Ublok origin" from 2 different operarting systems , Linux and Mac OS running Firefox and the problem persists.

So with no extensions installed the both operating systems only work in Safe mode.

jscher2000 I did not find the files userchrome.css or usercontent.css.

However I created a new user account on my Mac running high sierra and firefox which is in its default settings no bookmarks no configuration modifications. Firefox worked and showed the "feedback tab" I also added "ublock origin" and disabled it for the bank site (same as my other user account) and it also worked.

This suggest that something has been changed in the Firefox profile for both my Mac OS and my Linux system that prevents the "feedback" tab from being visible.

I would like to find this modification do you have any suggestions?

The problem is "Ublock origins"

Please confirm this fault. 1. I installed "ublock origins" and without performing and changes it blocks the Tangerine bank "feedback" from displaying. 2. If you disable or remove the "feedback" tab still does not show. 3. I created a new profile configured Firefox exactly and when I added "Ublock origns" the "feedback" tab disappears. Yoou cannot recover by disabling or removing 4. If you refresh Firefox from trouble shooting or go to safe mode firefox recovers.

You would have to check what content is blocked by uBlock Origin and possibly disable the extension on this website.

You can contact the uBlock Origin developers for support.

One place to post issues with uBlock Origin is:

https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/

I'm pretty sure it's because the tracking script from Google Tag Manager would be blocked on the page.

The problem is "uBock Origin"

This particular Feedback button can easlily be construed as a pop-up, which uBlock Origin will block .....

Corel- The issue is not the blocking by Ublock origin but the fact when it is disabled as well as removed from the extensions in firefox it still continues to function.

firefox is only able to prevent it from operating in safe mode.
