When I visit my emails I have to wait for the beach ball to stop spinning on my MacBook Pro.

When I browse my emails the same happens.

When I compose an email as I type the ball spins but then suddenly catches up.

The emails are sending with no problem. I am receiving emails with no problem.

It is becoming rather frustrating and slow especially as this does not happen on Yahoo.

Sounds like something is interupting the downloading process like an AV product. Do you have an AV product scanning downloading files or scanning Thunderbird files and folders? If yes, suggest you make Thunderbird files and fodlers exempt from scannning and also stop scanning incoming emails.

Hello,

No, I haven't downloaded anything like that since using Thunderbird, though I don't know what an AV product is.

Cheers,

Paul

AV product means Anti-virus program. eg: Norton, McAfee, Avast Many computers come with built in security options.

If a computer OS or other program like Adobe is updating in the background it can also cause temporary delays in programs currently running.

If you are using an imap mail account and there is a lot of synchronising between the folders in Thunderbird and the server, this might cause a temporary lag.

Hello Toad-Hall,

Restarted with add-on disabled and the problems seems to be solved.

Thanks for your help.
