I run 2 side-by-side monitors with extended view. I typically have Thunderbird open in the right hand monitor, at the top right of the screen. Several times a day, Thunderbird will suddenly and for no apparent reason jump about 1 foot to the left, and park itself behind the windows open in the left hand screen. I have to bring it forward by clicking on the taskbar icon, grab the top border and move it back into its proper position. What can be causing this and how can I stop this annoying behavior?

This does not sound like a Thunderbird issue.

It sounds more like an issue to do with how windows are arranged on the desktop. As if suddenly the arrangement changes to cascade. The TB window going to the back of the stack would imply you have focus on another window at the time this occurs. This might be caused by you using a shortcut key combination.
