Thanks for all efforts in keeping TBird going.

Similar to an issue raised by Track21 about TB after v.24.

This is TB 45.8. Linux 18.04. Multiple email accounts. One profile.

About 98% of all incoming emails from all addresses are filtered to Local Folders.

Reply to an email filtered to a Local Folder picks up Default Account address rather than the "To" address in the email.

Efforts so far.

Have downloaded the absolute most recent TB version, and this problem exists there, as well.

Have done as suggested in the reply to Track21 by restarting without add-ons, and this problem exists in TBird as designed and installed off the shelf. Without add-ons, this problem exists.

Obviously, that can get both frustrating and embarrassing. Key, when the email is addressed to a group or list, and no recipient address is showing, the "To" address in the original note is buried in a header, somewhere, and not necessarily obvious, even upon looking. Either way, it should just be automatic for a reply to populate the "From" address with the "To" address from the original email, rather using some other "From" address.

Have changed the mailnews.reply_to_self_check_all_ident item in about:config, but that didn't fix this problem.

Tried the "Reply as original recipient" add-on, but that didn't fix this problem, either. Helpful javascript, but I'm hoping not to have to reverse engineer that level of code to find a solution.

Tried the "Custom sender address and reply" (cusedar) add-on, and maybe I just don't see what is being regex'd, but haven't gotten that possible solution to fix this problem, yet, either.

Apparently, it's a design feature, or else these add-ons wouldn't exist to address this issue (problem).

Is there a config setting that fixes this?

Is there an add-on that is readily understood that fixes this?

Is there something about the set up of this operating system that is causing this? Some library or other that's changed?

Really need to have the right "From" address in the replies to emails filtered to Local Folders.

Great email client. I hope there's something easy for fixing this.

When you reply using a filter the default account is used to send the email as there is no account selected (there might be in the context of the user interface, but filters are not working in that context. So the first account listed in the left hand pane will be used.
