Firefox is throttling speed
Hello,
I had a 300mpbs connection for download, but was never able to get past 200mbps. But now today, on installing a 1gig connection, I still cannot get past 200mbps. The installer blamed it on my PC's network card. But I just ran the same speed test with Microsoft Edge 64-bit, and I was able to get past 600mbps. So clearly, this problem is isolated to Firefox.
I am using the latest Firefox 32-bit. I have no addons installed. I am running Firefox on Windows 7.
After typing this post, I thought the 32-bit Firefox was probably causing the issue, so I installed the Firefox 64-bit, and the speed increased by 50mbps to 250mbps.
Thank you.

I just did a Firefox refresh and no change in the speed issue.
Does anyone know?
Sorry for the third back-to-back post, but I think I found something interesting. It seems this problem/bug has been going on with Firefox for at least the past four years. For example, look at this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1320745
I am also reading of other users experiencing limits at 200 or 250 mbps, but only in Firefox.
So, I am not sure why this still bug exists, even after four years. Disappointing to say the least. And I can confirm this speed issue is related to websites using https.
Please prioritize this bug and fix it. Thanks.
See my screenshot and I'm plugged into the my modem(Arris SB8200 DOCSIS® 3.1 Gigabit Cable Modem). You will need to provide details on your network setup. What modem are you using? Is there a router after the modem? Are you plugged in or on WiFi? Have you plugged directly into the modem and test the speed?

I can barely get past 100mbps on Google's speed test on either Firefox or Microsoft Edge. But I can get over 600 on other websites.
The PC is plugged in via ethernet, directly to the modem which is also the router. You should run a speed test at speedtest.net and post your results.
