Finding the number of entries in a mailing list
I am running TB 78.8.0. In prior versions there was a count of entries in a mailing list at the bottom of the list window. It seems to have disappeared in the current version. My provider has a limit of 100 entries per list and 500 emails per hour so it is important to know how many each list contains. Is there a way to see the count? I have searched and have been unable to find it short of manually counting each list as it grows.

try expanding the address book in the left pane and clicking on the actual list in there... as that is what is displayed in the status bar, the contact selecting in the pane on the left

I'm running TB 78.8.0 and when I select an address book or a mailing list, the number of Total contacts is displayed in the bottom 'Status Bar'. In 'Address Book', is the 'Status Bar' enabled? 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Status Bar'
Thanks but what is displayed is the total number of entries in the entire address book. What I'm looking for is the number of entries in each individual mailing list since I need to keep each list under 100 entries. In prior versions the count was displayed at the bottom of each mailing list window.
you might want to try restarting Thunderbird in safe mode with addons disabled from the help menu. I click on a list I get the number of entries in the list. I click on a parent address book I get the entries in the parent inclusive of the list. So your result is significantly different to both mine and Toads.
As all three of us are using Windows 10 I think, I must therefore assume it is something on your computer. An addon is by far the most likely cause.
Thanks Matt but that didn't do it either. I restarted in safe mode, disabled all addons and I still see the total contacts in the address book at the bottom of the pane. It doesn't change when I select a mailing list nor does the list window show the count.
This time try this: Close the Address Book window. Help > Restart with addons disabled when the safe mode window pops up, this time select checkbox 'Reset Toolbars and Controls' then click on the button 'Make changes and restart'.
Report back on results.
Thanks for your efforts. I had actually tried that yesterday (and again this morning) but got the same result. I'm attaching a screenshot with a list open and the total contacts in the address book displayed. Do you think a reinstall might do it?

Thanks Matt, that did it. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks to Toad also for the suggestions.
