Hi

I have been a user of Thunderbird for quite a few years now, but have suddenly started having an issue I cannot resolve.

Thunderbird keeps dumping all my eBay emails in my spam folder, even when I mark the messages as not spam and even though the eBay mail address is in my address book and Thunderbird is set to not mark messages as span if the send is in my address book.

I have even tried to turn off all spam filtering controls and that made no difference, I also do not have any message filters set up.

Anyone got any idea as to what is going wrong,

Thanks for any help or advice.

Paul

Have you considered it may be your mail provider doing this? Or your antivirus program?

If you have anti scam or spam tools from a third party like an antivirus program, turn those tools off and see if the issue continues. I have seen some antiscam tools loose the plot and put everything in the spam folder, not just one sender.

In your case I would be more inclined to think it may be your mail provider. Some use particularly poor spam filters and rely on other users iden5tifying spam senders. So user one identifies Ebay as a spam send (it get the mail out of their inbox) so they treat all email from ebay for all of their customers as SPAM. The worse instance of this was a major US ISP some years ago. (So long ago I can not remember which it was) but other providers like yahoo and AOL have spam filters which you can not opt out of and they have been know to get it horribly wrong.
