I want to download a picture from my hotmail email, but it keeps reverting back to the email pic. Wont download it. I had to go to my Yahoo account to do this! When I went to the feedback for the New beta version FireFox 4 I was told I had to install the beta version - WHICH I already have! HELP

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== I downloaded the Beta version FireFox 4

For some reason your useragent is not identified as 4.0b1. It is identified as 3.6.6. You can tell below in bold that 3.6.6 is your version of Firefox

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C) BLNGBAR

You can update your firefox version by downloading beta from here. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Or

You can change your useragent but that wouldn't be any help because 3.6.6 doesn't have the feedback addon.

See Find what version of Firefox you are using and Web sites or add-ons incorrectly report incompatible browser

See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_your_useragent_string_to_its_compiled-in_default

Check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. Filter: general.useragent

If any general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose Reset.

Everything about this UA says 3.6.6 -

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C) BLNGBAR

I have never heard of an addon or program changing or locking both the Firefox version and the Gecko version.

That happens if the general.useragent.override pref is set. That pref replaces the full user agent.

It is of course possible that you launch the wrong 3.6.6 version. You can see the Firefox version at the top and the user agent at bottom of the "Help > About" window (Mac: Firefox > About Mozilla Firefox).

The version I am using is 4.0 - I went and Reset user agent to everything showing on the link sent:

general.useragent.extra.firefox;Firefox/4.0b1 general.useragent.locale;en-US general.useragent.security;U

I am still unable to download pics in hotmail..... Along with not being able to use Aviary Image Editor as it says it is Not compatible with the 4.0 version. So that Add-on picked up the right version I am using. (I use this to take ScreenShots!) - I sure hope this will be available when FireFox 4.0 is fully launched.....................

Along with the email pic problem :(

Thanks for the help
