I had version 3.6.11, and was reinstalling Firefox in case it was the source of trouble on my Photobucket site. I thought I would try the Firefox 4 Beta, but then found the Red Cats add-on isn't compatible. I don't want to be without the Red Cats, so uninstalled the Beta and installed 3.6.13 instead. I then went to put Red Cats back on. It said it installed, and to restart to show it. BUT ... no cats. I restarted Firefox; I restarted the computer, several times. Nothing! Help! I don't like my Firefox being catless.

The solution! And by sheerest chance, too. I'd installed a theme, since it seemed to be the only way to decorate the page. I decided to uninstall it, since it made things a bit hard to read. So, went to Tools, then Add-ons to get rid of it - and the Red Cats were sitting there, waiting to be installed.

So the answer is, don't believe it when Firefox says they're installed, or that you have to restart it. Go to you add-on list and get it going from there, and THEN restart Firefox (which should prompt you to do so anyway).

This worked for 3.6.13, btw. Hopefully the upgrade to .14 won't mess it about, because I upgraded to that at work today and the kits are still sitting there.
