I hate that I have to spent time fixing things after the automatic upgrading to 4

After automatic upgrade, I didn't restart the computer for days because that's the way I use it. Today it restarted because the power went off for a second. After restart Firefox popped out a window saying that it will start in Safe mode unless I disable or get rid of something like my add-ons, bookmarks, user settings etc. So I decided not to and clicked Continue in Safe mode. Unlike before when my previous session with open web pages was restored now they were not. So I restarted again and this Safe mode window popped up again. I guessed I had to sacrifice something in order to avoid that window on each start and run Firefox in normal mode because the button was dimmed until I get rid of something from the list.

Well, now Firefox starts in normal mode but I want to use my addons. I had a dictionary page opens when I select a word and choose Search dictionary, I can't remember the name of the add on or plug in whatever it was and I really hate that change. Also another thing that is very important to me, previously I was able to close Firefox with many windows open and be able to restore the session after restarting. Now this is not working and if this is not available in the new version, I have to find out how to revert back to the previous version. I will greatly appreciate your help.

Ok, managed to figure out how to restore the plug ins and add ons but I can't figure out how to save the current session on Exit so that it is restored on Start. In the previous version when I choose Exit, Firefox asks if I want the session saved. Is this still available in the new version? If not available I don't want it and have to find out how to revert to the older version.

I will greatly appreciate your help.
