How do I reinstate the Google searchbox which has been replaced by a different, unknown searchbox?

A friend advised me to install a decompression software package called J-Zip so that I could unpack some files he had posted online as a .rar file. I did this, but the software reset my homepage and replaced the Google searchbox in my toolbar with an unknown feature. I immediately uninstalled the software (it's own uninstall feature did not work, unsurprisingly I suppose, so I used Windows' own 'add or remove software' feature) and reset my homepage, but I do not know how to get rid of the unknown searchbox & reinstate the Google searchbox which was there previously - I do not want the rest of Google's toolbar features and do not want to reduce screen size with an unnecessary toolbar, so I don't want to download the Google Toolbar in it's entirety, I just want to restore what I had 2 days ago. Can you help? I am running Firefox 5.0 on Windows XP Professional 2002 with Service Pack 3 Many thanks
