I am using Firefox for many years, I never use internet explore, I have a new laptop with windows7, and old big PC with windows xp, on both computers I installed Firefox, the problem is I cannot bring bookmarks from my old computer (it was very easy to bring them from windows xp to windows xp, or from windows 98 to windows xp, but it seams impossible to bring them from windows xp to windows7, and no instruction from Firefox. If somebody is using Firefox for many years, doesn't keep bookmarks on internet explorer, please give an instruction how to bring bookmarks from Firefox on windows xp to Firefox on windows 7.

Soluzione scelta

Please do the following.

  1. Copy the bookmarks.htm file to your new laptop and save it somewhere.

  2. Open Firefox on the laptop, click the orange Firefox button and go to History | Show All History.

  3. Click the link called "Import and backup" at the top and then choose "Import HTML".

  4. Choose From HTML file in the Wizard which appears and then navigate to where you saved the file you copied from the old PC.

If the file is not in HTML format, but .JSON format, then in the Import and backup menu, choose "Restore" instead and then navigate to where you saved the file.
