I know this forum has done that for as long as I can remember, but I think it varies from site to site based on whether the site instructs Firefox to cache the page or not cache the page.

Is there a particular site where you have this problem?

If the problem is a form that you filled in, there is an add-on designed to minimize data loss when you leave a form unexpectedly: Lazarus: Form Recovery (I haven't tried it myself).

Thank you. I will try that. The specific site I have the problem with most (although it happens on all sites) is POF.COM

Firefox 20 made many changes related to private browsing, and if you use a lot of add-ons, you may need to check for updates.

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > "gear" icon > Check for Updates

If you suspect that Firefox is not caching pages at all (every visit to the page is equally slow), you can check through the about:config preferences list.

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the filter box, type or paste cache and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Make sure browser.cache.disk.enable and browser.cache.memory.enable are set to true. If they have switched to false, double-click to toggle them back to true.

Thank you again. I will have to try that as well.
