Q: How do I Always Enable Java?

Yes, I have read through the mozilla supplied articles, but none of them tell me how to get the red plug-in icon so I can change my plug-in settings. Currently, my plug-in icon blue. The only choices Firefox is giving me is to choose either "Block Plug-in" or "Continue allowing". That's not what I need. I have found a mozilla support page via web search that shows how to change the setting to "Always activate plug-ins for this site". That is what I need. [Link is given below]

Since Firefox began blocking Java in late October 2013, I now have to manually allow java every time i go to the financial sites I need to use for work - sites that must use java for their streaming charts / financial date - and have to re-check that little "Allow" box, again, all day long, every day. Have I mentioned how annoying this is?

I get that you folks at mozilla have determined that the "Java Development Toolkit is known to be vulnerable". I get that every day, all day. Repeatedly. For someone who needs to access streaming financial data, I'd like to be able to use a browser that will allow me to modify my settings that suit my needs. Or can I phone your I.T. department and have one of you check that "Allow" box for me all day, every day? Or would that be annoying?

Hello Jack,

Can you please confirm if this is what you are looking for

  1. You want to be able to enable Java across all the sites you browse without you having to 'Allow and Remember' for each site.
  2. You want to push this as a setting to all the users in your organization

is that correct?

You also mentioned the support article How to allow Java on trusted sites that would enable Java for a site and remember the preferences. Does this not solve the issue for you?

Thank you
