When opening cnn.com the first time, everything loads completely. After that, on refresh, the Markets frame never reloads, and the wheel just spins. It happens even if I close cnn.com, leaving other tabs open, and then opening cnn.com again. I haven't noticed it on any other sites.

I have FF 27.0 and have reset it. I don't believe Javascript is running. It doesn't happen in IE. The only Extension running is AdBlock Plus 2.4.1

Can anyone help solve this?

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Hi Cor-el, The CTRL-F5 allows the markets to load. I have cleared the cache and removed the cookies. What is it about CTRL-F5 ? Will I always need to do that? Thanks

Ctrl+F5 is a shortcut that instructs Firefox and other possible computers to load the page from the server instead of using a cached copy.

You can use it to force refreshing files in the cache that might have gotten corrupted on a previous visit of a website.
This is a good first to try if you notice that a page doesn't get loaded properly because this can be done easily and doesn't require to clear data like cookies and cache manually.
