Firefox doesn't honor refresh. Must minimize/maximize it to get refresh.
The above happens in after the screen saver comes on and is on for an extended period of time. When I come out of the screen saver a blank screen is presented. If I move the mouse around on the screen any of the different parts of FireFox I go over (like a button or text field) refreshes. In order to get the entire program display to refresh though, I have to minimize and then maximize Firefox. This started occurring with Firefox v17 or v18. So call me lazy for just now reporting this but I have been a bit busy.
My system is Windows XP 32bit 4GB of memory 500GB disk drive with over 150GB of space left Was using Avira - now using Bit Defender antivirus Developer set up on my system.

Update it It will work nicely...
I have the latest update. Version 31.0.
Next idea?
This looks to me as if the refresh routine is not catching the screen update. This can possibly happen because of some new feature in the latest Visual Studio release since Microsoft is not updating Windows XP they could be doing away with how Windows XP did these types of updates. I saw this kind of behavior in Windows 98se about six months after Microsoft stopped updating Windows 98se. But that is just a guess on my part. All I do know is that the callback for a window refresh is not being honored by FireFox and hasn't been for a while now.
This is not a life threatening problem - just an irritation and it probably can be fixed fairly easily (as a programmer since 1972 I glibly say that knowing full well how these kinds of problems can make you want to throw your computer across the room). Still, it is probably one of these "You call it like THIS for XP or Vista and THAT for 7.1 and above". So if it gets fixed that's great and if not - oh well. I can always just iconize and the maximize FireFox to get it to respond and refresh the screen.
