When I click a link on a site to send an email it diverts me to another page that says: "The website from which you got to this page is protected by CloudFlare. Email addresses on that page have been hidden in order to keep them from being accessed by malicious bots. You must enable Javascript in your browser in order to decode the e-mail address." I restarted with add-ons disabled to make sure they were not interfering. I followed this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-allow-java-trusted-sites to see if I could enable Javascript but there is no "plugin icon in the address bar". Do anyone know what the problem is? Thank you!

I get the same error page. I also get that error page in Internet Explorer 8. I think this feature might be broken on the site.

Fortunately, there is an "unprotected" address for that center on this page: http://sspx.org/en/community/retreat-centers

JavaScript is enabled by default, and if it is disabled, many, many sites will notify you with a large warning or simply not work at all.

Note: Firefox has a built-in JavaScript interpreter and doesn't use the Java plugin for that.

So... why isn't the script running as designed?

Do you have any content-filtering add-ons that could be blocking something the site needs? To see whether one of your extensions is involved, you could test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?

Do you see any icons on the location/address bar that indicate that mixed content is blocked?

You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer). Check on the Network tab if content from a specific domain is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

jscher200, Thanks for the response! I had already tried it with add-ons disabled and it didn't help.

cor-el, Thanks for the response. Just tried your suggestion and didn't see any files with a file size of zero.

Is the email link on a page you can give a link to (i.e., no login required)?

Yes. It is on this page: http://sspx.org/en/st-ignatius-retreat-house . Under the phone number just click the link for "email".
