we get a notice that ver 38.0.1 is available, then we download and install, then we go to "About Firefox" and see that we have version 36.0.1 rather than 38.0.1
We get a notice that Firefox update 38.0.1 is available. So, we choose the update option, it downloads, and we restart Firefox to install. Then, shortly after that we get the same notice about version 38.0.1 being available. When we go to "About Firefox" in the Firefox menu, it says we have version 36.0.1. Well, which version do we really have? If the updater thinks it's 36.0.1, no wonder we get constant update notices. That is annoying enough, but my main worry would be that it really is 36.0.1, i.e., a less secure version.
This is on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.5.
