Firefox crashes
Very recently, Firefox began crashing upon trying to play any video source--YouTube, Netflix, video links from MSN, any video source. All other functions in the browser (file menu items, links, etc.) seem to work with no problem. I'm using Firefox 40.0.3 but have also tried reinstalling previous versions of Firefox to resolve the issue. I've also updated Adobe Flash to the latest ver. 18, all to no avail. Coincidentally, Adobe Flash works fine in IE 11, as do any of the videos in Netflix or on YouTube, ,so this seems to be strictly a Firefox-related issue. I'm running out of ideas to try. I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64 bit with Norton AV, perform routine de-fragging and malware scans regularly, and have had no problems until last night. Suggestions?

Just to let any and all know, I solved the problem but in a roundabout way. I was in the middle of trying to update a graphics driver and ended up getting my computer into a state where it wouldn't boot. I resorted to rolling it back with a system restore to last month's backup and I managed to solve the Flash conflict in the process. Being that I hadn't added any new software and/or made any changes to the system over the past month since that backup, I'm still not sure why the conflict started or what caused it. Either way, it's solved for the time being. Thanks for the posts and I'll return if I have any further problems. Regards.

What is your computer system and Firefox?
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
Update your Flash Player

Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.

I appreciate the response but I'm still having problems. See my original post for o.s. information--Win7 Home Premium 64bit, Firefox 40.0.3, though I've tried reverting to previous releases of Firefox (29, 39, etc) with the same result. I've neither added nor deleted any software since this problem started in the last couple of days. I can't even click on any movie listed in Netflix now without it crashing Firefox when attempting to open the movie. (this is a full-tilt crash, not a hanging issue; the browser closes and the "we're sorry, but Firefox has crashed" window appears with options to "quit Firefox" or "re-start it". As mentioned before, Adobe Flash works perfectly in IE 11, as do any YouTube videos or anything else I want to watch in IE.. Firefox up to now has been my default browser but I'm losing faith quickly. Again, thanks for the response.
You can check for issues caused by plugins and set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.
- plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode
You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- make sure you have the latest Flash version:

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
