Want to add Mapquest to "Permissions", but it is not listed there. Hopw can I add that to the list?
Was trying to register my business address with Mapquest for more exposure and visibility, and their site says that my business address can be automatically accessed if I enable "permissions" on my Firefox account. Their instructions say to click "Mapquest" in the Listings on the left side of the Permissions page, but it's not there, so need to know how to add it. I have a PC with Windows XP Professional (yes, I know that it is "obsolete").

Have you ever noticed Firefox dropping down a little panel from the left end of the address bar indicating that a site wants you to share your location? That's most likely what Mapquest is talking about.
You can modify the default "Ask me" permission for the site using the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog. You can call that up using any of these:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Permissions
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
- click the padlock or "i" icon to the left of the site address, then the ">" icon, then More Information > Permissions
Near the top, you'll find "Access Your Location" and you can uncheck the "Use default" box and select the permission you prefer.
But you still need to get the site to ask again somehow, perhaps reloading the page, or clicking a button on the page.
Note: This assumes you haven't globally disabled location. You can double-check that here:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste geo and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If the geo.enabled preference is bolded and "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true
(4) If you turned that back on, you're done here, and you can prepare to get permission requests again...
Thanks much. I'll try it tomorrow---don't have enough time today. Will advise how it comes out.
