My screen has been blocked by a message purporting to come from microsoft saying" username and password are being requested by http://secure-data.in. The site says: “Mozilla browser is blocked to avoid data theft in your computer, Suspicious traces found. Call immediately at: 0-800-098-8635” I cannot close the window or delete he website. Bitdefender failed to stop it and apparently dont seem to fix it. Maybe I should uninstall firefox and get another browser.

hi, please press x on the popup dialog and then press ctrl+w (that's the keyboard shortcut to close a page) in quick succession in order to close this fraudulent page.

I had this to (from a different site), and wasn't quick enough to be able to get the window closed before the basic auth dialog returned.

My solution was to:

- disconnect from the network
- cancel the basic auth dialog
- close the tab
- reconnect to the network.

The page has a frequent reload that is delayed while the dialog is displayed. Pressing Esc quickly numerous times should cancel the dialog and reload, but going offline also will stop the reload, so that was a good idea.
