I've just dowloaded a docx file and when I try to open it I'm given the choice of two apps, the first of which is Google Maps, the second is BBC iPlayer! Given that I have Microsoft Word on my device why is FF suggesting these two?!

Extension was present, yes. Opening it from the download folder worked. Weirdly, once I'd done that, Firefox would open it just fine, too! Must've been a glitch in the Matrix...

Can you tell whether the .docx file extension was preserved?

I assume this problem occurs using Firefox's internal list here:

menu > Tools > Downloads

If you use the Android Downloads folder/app to launch the file, does that work any better?
