When I download something, how to I save it directly to my external hard drive instead of having it saved to my computer first and then to my external hard drive? My computer has little space left and my hard drive has 463 GB left. That's why I want to save all of my files to my external hard drive instead of my computer.

You can set the download to 'Ask me'. Options/Preferences > General > Download: Always ask you where to save files

First, move everything you don't use that takes up space; Clips, Music, Pictures, Docs . . . . . . .

As to the question, IF the external drive is ON LINE, you can change the download location to a folder there.

Note: Remember to clean out the hard drive now and then.

I have a 1 TB hard drive and a 3 TB external. I use the external for everything I have.
