Firefox keeps updating when I have selected the option not to update.

Firefox keeps updating even though I have specifically selected the option "Never check for updates."

Type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select Update. Check the settings.

Also turn off Use a background service to install updates
