I cannot get Firefox to ask to remember login information any more
On many of my sites the login is no longer remembered and when I go in to security in preferences it will not allow me to check that box. How do I get Firefox to ask again to remember passwords etc.

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.
When you are in Private Browsing mode then all cookies are session cookies that expire when you close all PB mode windows/tabs.

Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar.
Under Logins, Turn on Remember Logins. To check the passwords you have listed, press Saved Logins.
Warning: There are some web pages that do not allow browsers to record or fill in the log-in information. But if you go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) you can find several add-ons that can override this, and give you better control of your password information. You can also try a Form Filling add-on.
