How to pin and un-pin top sites?
With old Firefox I could un-pin site and then install new site easily from my book marks, just "drag and place and pin. ?. Now there are only 8 Top Sites: How do I remove a site that is not used often (or duplicated) ? I may want to use some sites seasonally ( golf course, ski area, tax prep etc) Actually, it would be good to have 12 top sites.

Hi mnwfireuser,
Drag and drop isn't possible at the moment. Hopefully they'll add it later. However, you can click 'Edit' in the upper-right corner of the Top Sites and press the button 'Add' to manually add a website by entering the URL. Not as convenient, but it does the job.

Hi mnwfireuser,
Have a look here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-new-tab-page#w_unpin-a-top-site
Best regards, BelFox
It doesn't work that way. I would like to drag a site from my bookmarks and add to my top sites. It just doesn't work. I can un-pin, but I can't pin the site I want to add.

Belfox. That works. Note that you have to "hover" over the EDIT and wait for the "Customize your Top Site" prompt to pop-up. Then You can see the CUSTOMIZE box with "ADD". It works. Next ? , How do you move "SITE ICONS" around with in the "TOP SITES" box.
Moving top sites around is not possible (yet).

BelFox Thanks for that info. I'll stop trying to move things around :-( . I'm getting used to the new page format. The Jury is out on whether I really like it yet. Change for an old fart like me comes hard. When we "old farts" get comfortable with a format it is disconcerting when it changes. Thanks for all your support.
You're welcome! I am positive further improvements will be made in future versions. There are also add-ons available that offer a new tab page with thumbnails like you were used to, if that is what you prefer.
Best regards BelFox
