On the latest Firefox new tabs page I have been left with just six pinned tabs. I used to have more than this. Is there a way to create more? I've tried decreasing the page size but that didn't work. Also, underneath the pinned tabs all the sites I've ust visited are appearing. Most of these sites I'm only visiting once and having them appear on the new tabs page is really annoying. I'd much rather be able to pin sites that I use frequently. Can I get rid of this?

Hi, there are some settings in the gear icon (top right of the New Tab page) which will allow you to increase the number to 12. You can also turn off Highlights, Snippets and the search bar. To make further changes, see below -

To increase the number of thumbnails, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSiteCount then right click > Modify to change the number to e.g. 18. Now restart Firefox.

To use the old version, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled and double click on it to change 'Value' from True to False, then restart Firefox.

Alternatively, you can use an add-on such as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/
