Can someone clarify the workaround to export the passwords in easy steps? I find that the simple "Export Passwords" is a MUST HAVE feature. I currently spent over an hour trying to find a solution, only to find out that there are no solutions. There are different workarounds which all have a bottleneck. Like using Chrome, copying the files/profiles, using extensions. However, there is no one single way of properly handling this. Unless my now almost two hours search has been a failure.

BTW I use MacOS and, because I didn't mention it before, downgrading doesn't seem the answer.

I would suggest downgrading Firefox, get the data you need, then update if you still want to.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/password-exporter Password Exporter

This add-on allows you to export your saved passwords and disabled login hosts using XML or CSV files that can be imported later.

Note: This add-on won't work in Firefox 57. It may eventually if the APIs to access passwords are implemented.
