I just installed the FF app on my Samsung S5 and used FF Setting to enter the web address of my preferred home page, https://my.yahoo.com. That address appears in Settings as the home page but when FF is started newly, it does no go to that homepage. If I click on the my.yahoo page in Browsing History, the my.yahoo page loads correctly. Even though I seem to have correctly entered the custom home page address correctly, FF does not go to that addr when started newly.

That's painful. Follow the article attached below

If that doesn't work then maybe an extension is overriding Firefox's normal behavior. Just let me know what happens.

The home page preference only happens when Firefox is not running. The default in Android is that applications in the background are still considered running but in a very low power mode so they don't eat your battery. So this is why the home page preference is not working as you expect.

If you want the home page pref to work as you expect you will need to close Firefox when you are done using it by tapping your phone's app switch button and then swiping close Firefox.
