No file selection window pops up when I go to "Show All Bookmarks" and select "Import and Backup" > "Restore" > "Choose File"
I've backup up my bookmarks as JSON file using the bookmark backup function in Firefox. Now I'm trying to restore a bookmark by clicking the bookmark icon and selecting "Show All Bookmarks". Then the "Library" window pops up and you select "Import and Backup" > "Restore" > Choose File". But then nothing happens. A window should be popped up for you to select a file but nope, there's no response whatsoever. I've tried reinstalling the Firefox, deleting all files and folders in my Windows profile but no success.
Can anyone please help me? Thanks!

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.
- use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
in case errors are reported close and restart Firefox and retry

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page cannot repair places.sqlite then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks everyone.
I've uninstalled the flash player and reinstalled the latest version. Then done Verify Integrity on Places Database (didn't seem to have any unusual error).
But still no luck. No window comes up when you select "Restore" > "Choose File".
Any other suggestions?
Hi PJ,
Can you go to the three-bar menu, Web Developer -> Browser Console (it opens a new window), then go back to the restore option and try the choose file again.
See if there's any errors or messages appearing in the console when you select the choose file option, if so, please can you copy and paste them here.
Hi Standard8,
As soon as I opened the Browser Console the below error was at the bottom: IndexedDB UnknownErr: ActorsParent.cpp:13930
But nothing was added or changed in the console when I selected Restore > Choose File.
Thanks.
Is Firefox able to open file browsing windows related to other commands, such as
- In the Library window, "Import" (for bookmarks in an HTML format)
- In Firefox, "3-bar" button (or File menu) > Open File
- Or to save an image using right-click > Save Image As...
